I'm especially fond of the preppy rookie, Job Cloovers (Elliot Barnes-Worrell), an inexperienced know-it-all who keeps trying to impress his blunt boss with arcane information and eureka-style breakthroughs. At least, that’s the way steely-eyed cop Piet van der Valk sees his murder-infested beat. Filmed with a mostly British (meaning superb) supporting cast, and thoroughly utilizing the sights, sounds, canals, coffee houses and museums of this great city. Top Critics (6) (2020–2021).
