Eh, I have the i9 5500M, and think many of those claims are blown out of proportion. A 30% difference between todays i7 and i9? For most people, a Core i7 processor should be powerful enough. Also, an i9 variant would likely have a better resale value (relatively) to an i7 later on (if that matters). I also highly doubt the temps it reaches are going to cause damage to the CPU. I've seen like a 30% improvement between this year's i9 and last years top tier quad core i7 but not that big a gap between the hex core i7 in the 2018 models and the i9. Have you noticed any issues with the laptop getting really hot?
