There is a Starbucks, a nice park, a variety of shops and many historical sites. I'm sure some of the buildings will not age well but equally others should stand the test of time. It wasn't hugely busy when I was there which was a pity but the station is huge and this area could be quite lively if it gets more popular. Potsdamer Platz is a slightly interesting and historic place in Berlin, it was totally laid to waste during the Second World War and desolated during the Cold War years as it was part of the Berlin Wall location, a very small memorial of the wall is located in the area, close to the train station and Vapiano.Since reunification of Berlin and Germany, this place has returned back to its' usual ways, with construction starting in the late 1990's.Potsdamer Platz is quite nice, there are multiple shops and malls nearby, including The Mall of Berlin as well as having a train station and metro station.Signposting around the square could be better, as this is also a huge tourist area due to things to do especially in terms of shopping and even eating,I wouldn't say Potsdamer Platz is a highly special place of Berlin, Berlin is a nice city and this Potsdamer Platz is just okay. It is a replica, as the original was removed in the 1930s and it is no longer used for traffic controlling purposes, but it is still interesting to see.It is also interesting to stand here and note the hustle and bustle, just as it had been 100 years prior.
