In 1978 at age 37 Lyn Hejinian first built this autobiographical structure in 37 sections of 37 sentences, with each section running parallel to the specific year of her life. She lives in Berkeley and teaches at the University of California. I can’t imagine anybody reading this book who doesn’t enjoy the intellectual fittings of life. This is maybe my favorite book ever.
