We got our couch for $50 at Habitat for Humanity (it was in good condition when we bought it and a good brand, though I cannot remember which off the top of my head) and put on a nice looking easy to clean microfiber slipcover ($100) since we didn't like the original color.

While it may not last as long if you do it than the professional, at least you know if the dogs shred it, you can do it yourself. Which means they might not be the best, Yes bobs discount. Basically anything with "bonded" leather will peel and is garbage.Real leather is $$$ but lasts. Went with microfiber because pet hair and pet claws can be a real problem with leather. IMO, always pay for quality on the things you will use daily. I suspect bobs furniture is the same.

Its been 2 years and there are no issues with rough usage of the sofa. I don’t know Bob, but the Ashley sofa, chair, and ottoman lasted about 18 months. (But expensive at 2k.) I feel that with furniture, you can buy cheap, but in a few years, you will be buying cheap again.
