Root & Branch – How five shillings, faith and belief inspired the beginning of the Probation Service Touring Exhibition 2023 – 2024
Probation Exhibition Visiting Wales
‘Root & Branch – How five shillings, faith and belief inspired the beginning of the Probation Service’ is a collaboration between the Probation Service and Englesea Brook Museum and Chapel. It will run until summer 2024.
The Probation Service was initially founded with a five-shilling donation in the courts of Victorian London. The exhibition picks up the story of the foundation and development of the Service, with opportunities to learn more about offenders and the opportunities they had to change their lives, both in the Victorian era and recent times.
There are panels of information and links to a website as well as artefacts to be viewed. Please visit the exhibition blog, which will be updated with stories, and details of the tour – https://rootbranchexhibition.co.uk/.
