Connectivity through light and dark in Law Tomruk Üstünkaya Sussex Law School Wednesday 5 December 2018

‘Connectivity through light and dark in Law’ Tomruk Üstünkaya – Wednesday 5 December 2-4pm (Freeman G31)

This workshop surrounds the work created by the artist Danielle O’Connor Akiyama. The main themes explored are connection through creativity and the exploration of light and dark. The purpose for which is for academics to encourage active participation and engagement by students.

Focusing on the legal theory of Law and Aesthetics, the workshop encourages participants to be mindful of Geary’s encouragement to “fashion new law” (Law and Aesthetics, 2001) by utilising aesthetic evaluations by the proposal that “dissident and radical Nietzschean” dynamisms stimulate legal thought processes.
